Purpose of Classification: | |
The Director provides expertise for a wide range of existing and emerging Web technologies to support the university's strategic goals. This position is responsible for building, implementing and managing a coordinated master plan for the website. The director develops a "Web Academy" to bring together all of NMSU's web developers and establish training protocols, share lessons learned and new technologies. | |
Standard Duties: | |
Build, implement and manage a coordinated master plan for NMSU's website; connect NMSU's overall web design and templates, establish and coordinate technology and strategic web-related communications across campus; develop a "Web Academy" as a means to support training and collaboration for all of NMSU's web developers establish training protocols and support appropriate integration of new technology. | |
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: | |
Knowledge of current and emerging trends in web site software, multimedia and applications. Knowledge of web site and server architecture. Knowledge of web site usability and accessibility standards and protocols. | |
Skill in the design and development of user interface and navigation tools. Skill in researching and using new web site development/design software and trends. Skill in designing and administering databases. Skill in designing useable, accessible websites and original graphics. Skill in managing projects. Skill in consulting with users regarding web site development projects. | |
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. | |
Minimum Qualifications: | |
Education- Bachelor's degree in a related field. | |
Experience- Eight (8) years of experience directly related to the standard duties as outlined. | |
