Purpose of Classification:
Under minimal supervision, maintains/repairs telecommunications network equipment at a site or organizational location. Interprets service orders, circuit diagrams and electrical schematics. Verifies work order information and receipt of all necessary equipment and information. Tests and adjusts equipment as necessary. Performs routine maintenance and provides training and technical assistance to users.
Standard Duties:
Set-up, rearrange, or remove switching and dialing equipment used in central offices. Service or repair telephones and other communication equipment on customers' property. May install equipment in new locations or install wiring and telephone jacks in buildings under construction. Locates and repairs equipment documented with trouble reports. May assist or train subordinates in technical complexities of assigned work.Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of business practices and procedures. Knowledge of and insight into current and emerging digital communications technologies and their potential application to education and research.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- High School diploma or GED certificate.
   Experience- Three (3) years of experience related to the standard duties as outlined.
   Equivalency- Completion of a post-secondary degree or certificate may substitute for years of experience.
