Purpose of Classification: | |
Under general supervision maintains and repairs telecommunications network equipment at a site or organizational location. Interprets service orders, circuit diagrams and electrical schematics. Verifies work order information and receipt of all necessary equipment and information. Locates and repairs equipment documented with trouble reports. Tests and adjusts equipment as necessary. Performs routine maintenance and provides training and technical assistance to users. | |
Standard Duties: | |
Set-up, rearrange, or remove switching and dialing equipment used in central offices. Service or repair telephones and other communication equipment on customers' property. Installs equipment in new locations or install wiring and telephone jacks in buildings under construction.May be designated as the lead worker.May assign and check the work of lower level employees and train in the technical complexities of assignments.Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. | |

Minimum Qualifications: | |
Education- Bachelor's degree in a related field. | |
Experience- Five (5) years of experience directly related to the standard duties as outlined. | |
