Purpose of Classification:
Manages the undergraduate, transfer recruitment and admissions, special admissions, scholarship compliance and/or international admissions efforts of the university.  Supervises admissions staff to ensure effective and efficient evaluation and processing of student scholarship applications. Oversees data collection and management functions related to admissions and scholarship records. 
Standard Duties:
Creates and leads teams of individual University Admission Advisors and Student Ambassadors to successfully complete tasks related to a specific area of on-going responsibility. Participate in the planning and implementation of annual admission recruitment, application and enrollment strategies. Develop marketing strategies, recruitment publications and communications, travel schedules, collection and analysis of aggregate and disaggregate recruitment and demographic data. Conduct campus tours, formal and informal presentations, tele-recruiting and e-recruiting activities. Evaluate applicant qualifications and advise accordingly. Coordinate and/or participate in a variety of campus programs and special events to engage with the community and to market and recruit potential new students. Work collaboratively with University Financial Aid and Scholarship Services staff. Disseminates pertinent information, in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and University policies in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).  Monitors progress of applicants to admitted and enrolled status. Provides policy interpretation and advisement as appropriate, in accordance with university policy, accreditation standards, and privacy laws.  Responsible for scholarship coordination and collaboration with the office of Financial Aid and Scholarships, NMSU Foundation, and Student Information Management. Routinely analyze reports for accuracy, website information, and scholarship communication staff. Territory recruitment responsibilities include high school visits and/or community college visits, college fairs attendance, and recruitment communications. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of financial aid policies, procedures, and eligibility requirements. Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of student financial aid and scholarships. Knowledge of budgeting, cost estimating, and fiscal management principles and procedures. Knowledge of faculty and/or staff hiring procedures.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications. Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures. Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities. Employee development and performance management skills. Working knowledge and skill in operating in the Banner Financial Aid system and related module components. 
Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals. Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments. Ability to foster a cooperative work environment. 
Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Bachelor's degree in a related field. 
   Experience- Five (5) years of professional experience related to the standard duties as outlined. 
   Equivalency- None.
   Certifications/License- None.
