Purpose of Classification:
Administers and coordinates college-wide student support programs, to include counseling services and community programs and services for a large community college to accommodate the identified needs of students with disabilities. Serves as the college’s student conduct officer and Title IX liaison. Directs and manages the activities and operations of the office of Student Accessibility Services. Develops, implements, and maintains programs that enhance the successful retention of students with disabilities and their community college experience. Ensures services are compliant with federal ADA law.
Standard Duties:
Identifies student needs related to social and behavioral education and plans, implements, and evaluates mental, physical and wellness education programs. Plans, implements, evaluates, and oversees the college’s student support activities such as behavioral health services, food pantry offerings, and referrals to community agencies. Provides advice, and develops and disseminates information regarding services and programs to students, faculty, administrators, and service staff through publications, presentations, and workshops. Plans, implements, and directs programs, poicies, and services for undergraduate students who choose to identify and provide documentation pertaining to their disabilities. Serves as student conduct officer adjudicating all cases of student misconduct to include conducting educational conferences, student hearings, and imposing sanctions in compliance with the Student Code of Conduct. Serves as Title IX liaison working in coordination with the Office of Institutional Equity to inform students of federal, state, and institutional policies dealing with incidents of sexual misconduct, sexual assault, and sexual harassment. Publishes and maintains a student accessibility services manual, a faculty information guide, and other materials. Advises and coordinates student needs with county, city, and state agencies including the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation and the Commission for the Blind. Writes proposals to private and public sources to obtain funding for equipment and/or services in an effort to strengthen support services and improve accommodations. Establishes and maintains a Students with Disabilities advisory committee to solicit input, including from students with disabilities. Designs and administers an organizational structure that effectively accomplishes the organization’s goals and objectives. Oversees the supervision of personnel to include: work allocation, training, promotion and enforcement of internal procedures and controls and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance. Establishes and implements short and long-range organizational goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures. Monitors and evaluates programmatic and operational effectiveness, and implements required improvements. Develops and manages annual budgets and performs periodic cost and productivity analyses. Contributing participant in the development of college policies and procedures. Represents the college to various institutional divisions and to external governmental agencies, vendors, students, parents, and the general public. Supervises exempt and non-exempt employees. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
   Experience- Five (5) years of professional experience related to the standard duties as outlined.
