Purpose of Classification:
Provides intervention for at-risk student populations including first-time attending, stop out, dropout, and withdraw students. Provides administration with reports and/or recommendations of retention initiatives to increase student persistence, retention, and graduation rates. Establishes and maintains active internal and external relationships that enhance and support retention. Oversees tutoring services at four campus locations.
Standard Duties:
Oversees the supervision of personnel to include: work allocation, training, promotion and enforcement of internal procedures and controls and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance. Initiates contact with at-risk students via telephone. Assists students with information to enhance their academic skills and/or provides intervention to keep them enrolled. Compiles qualitative data from the intervention to monitor and analyze gaps in student retention and patterns of plausible reasons for student attrition. Schedules and conducts regular staff meetings, monitors staff/tutor budget and prepares documentation to back-up budget requests. Oversees staff and tutors at four campus locations. Monitors student tutor hires as well as tutor schedules and subject matter offered. Attends DACC and NMSU committee meetings, events and activities. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned .

Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
   Experience- Five (5) years of professional experience related to the standard duties as outlined.
