Purpose of Classification:
This position will coordinate academic course offerings to ensure compliance with, university, state and/or high school program guidelines; serve as a liaison between one or more of the following: secondary schools , university, college, department, faculty or staff leadership to facilitate communication; and will coordinate services for distance education and/or concurrently enrolled/dual enrolled high school and homeschooled students in service area.
Standard Duties:
Recommends and coordinates academic schedules for service area; Coordinates and ensures implementation of testing and/or application processes as needed for different programs; Organizes and coordinates orientations for new parents, students and faculty as needed; Supervises and participates in admission, registration and advisement services for new and continuing students, as well as to prospective students; Serves as liaison between faculty, staff, and and academic administration in the coordination of academic courses and career pathways and in the resolution of issues as they arise; Initiates and participates in meetings to maintain communication and partnerships with school districts, colleges, departments, faculty and staff; Supervises, directs, delegates, and evaluates work of assigned staff; Maintains accurate and current records for all; Creates and prepares printed/web materials related to the program; Oversees maintenance and operation of equipment; Responds to and resolves complaints and grievances; Makes hiring and firing recommendations; Performs related duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
University and Community College policies and procedures; principles and practices of organization and administration; Community College environment; principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluations.
Short- and long-range planning; problem analysis and resolution; report preparation and presentation; public contact and relations; research methods; training; budget preparation and fiscal management.
Direct, evaluate, train, and supervise the work of assigned personnel; communicate effectively in written and oral form; develop and maintain effective working relationships; maintain accurate and orderly records; use independent judgment and initiative; organize and direct several activities; analyze and evaluate information; operate a computer.
Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
   Experience- Two (2) years of experience related to the standard duties as outlined.
   Equivalency- Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience as approved by Human Resource Services.
