Purpose of Classification:
With supervision from the Director, provides advisory, referral, and information services to students, parents, and others interested in study abroad/exchange opportunities, as well as work, travel, or volunteer opportunities. Provides, organizes, and implements materials and forums regarding international study opportunities and sources of financial aid; assists students in complying with registration and academic credit transfer requirements. May supervise support staff positions.
Standard Duties:
Advises both undergraduate and graduate students in selection of education abroad or international programs and assists with promotion, application, screening and selection of processes for all programs. Contributes to campus internationalization efforts. Maintains records and produces reports on program outcomes.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of student issues as they relate to international education. Knowledge of best-practice trends. Knowledge of a range of recruitment strategies and techniques. Knowledge of targeted recruitment principles, procedures, and resources. Knowledge of student outreach services and activities.
Records maintenance skills. Computer, email, social media, database, and website skills.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and attention to detail. Ability to develop and implement plans and projects. Ability to analyze and solve problems. Ability to analyze course prerequisites, certification, and/or curriculum/graduation requirements. Ability to coordinate and organize meetings and/or special events, and to work under pressure as a member of a diverse team. Excellent judgment and ability to deal with difficult situations, including emergencies and crisis abroad.
Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
   Experience- No previous work experience required.
   Equivalency- None.
