Purpose of Classification:
Responsible for supporting and implementing the day to day coordination and strategic direction of the UAS Flight Test Center in conjunction with the direction of the Director or his appointee, part of the Space/Aerospace Department of the Physical Science Laboratory.
Standard Duties:
Supervise, direct, delegate, and evaluate work of assigned staff; interface with various government representatives. Represent the Flight Test Center with corporate customers. Support or host technical interchange meetings. Track project progress and milestones. Provide input to OGC to prepare progress and milestones. Provide input to OGC to prepare quotes and bids. Develop and maintain lists of sponsors/customers. Support the development of the strategic direction. Perform related duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
University and department policies and procedures; principles and practices of organization and administration; principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation; FAA policies, regulations, and practices; DOD, DHS, and civil agency needs.
Short- and long-range planning; problem analysis trade off development and resolution; report preparation and presentation; public contact and relations; oral and written communication; maintain customer satisfaction; tactical planning; strategic planning awareness; and customer analyses.
Direct, evaluate, train, and supervise the work of assigned personnel; develop and maintain effective working relationships; prioritize conflicting requirements to achieve customer satisfactions; maintain accurate and orderly records; use independent judgement and initiative; organize and direct activities; analyze and evaluate information.
Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
   Experience- Six (6) years of increasingly progressive management experience in one or more areas that report to this position.
