Purpose of Classification:
The Director is responsible for the leadership and administration of the Adult Basic Education program. This may include: grants and contracts, MOU/JPAs, delivery of instructional programs and student support services at various campus locations; oversee data quality, community outreach, budget development and management, professional development plan, student indicators, program improvement, strategic planning and reporting/accountability.
Standard Duties:
Serve as the Director of the Adult Basic Education Program; Supervise and evaluate assigned personnel; Oversee program's goals, objectives and improvements; Responsible for development and / or administration of budget in areas of supervision; Serve as liaison between the ABE Program and the community college and university, community agencies, businesses and other groups, advisory committees, state and national groups; Provides student support services at various campus locations; Responsible for data quality audits/analysis; Provide end-of-year and mid-year reporting for grants and contracts as required; Serve on various community college committees; Develop and foster community partnerships; Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge and understanding of principles, procedures, regulations, and standards applicable to the job. Understanding of the University's mission, vision and goals.
Excellent communication skills, ability to listen to new ideas and to respond in a timely manner to students and staff. Demonstrated skill in working effectively with personnel conflicts and concerns.
Demonstrated ability to administer in a fair, thorough and thoughtful way. Ability to solve problems and deliver difficulty massages in a sensible way. Demonstrated ability to work independently and to establish and maintain a high degree of personal and program integrity and openness with students and staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Master's degree in a related field.
   Experience- Five (5) years of professional experience directly related to the standard duties as outlined.
