Purpose of Classification: | |
Performs ranch/farm activities such as planting, weeding, harvesting and/or caring for livestock. | |
Standard Duties: | |
Responsible for well being of livestock including but not limited to: checking water, assessing range condition, placement of supplemental feeds as needed, and minor medical care. Responsible for assisting and/or conducting research trials such as measuring supplemental feeds, assessing forage production, pasture rotations, capture and release of wildlife. Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of facilities building and equipment maintenance, fence and pipeline repair, etc. Responsible for precipitation records. Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned. | |
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: | |
Knowledge of range and vegetation principles and operations. Knowledge of scientific methodology of laboratory facilities, hazards of laboratory activities; safe practices, current EPA methods, techniques; lab protocol | |
Skill in the operation of ranch/farm equipment and in the use of tools used in the repair and maintenance of facilities. Ability to gather and analyze complex data; prepare and present reports | |
Ability to accurately maintain written records. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively. | |
Minimum Qualifications: | |
Education- Bachelor's degree in a related field. | |
Experience- Three (3) years of experience related to the standard duties as outlined. | |
