Purpose of Classification:
Administers all operations of the college's Adult Basic Education (ABE) Program which may include an Academic Support Center (ASC).
Standard Duties:
Hires, oversees, supervises and evaluates personnel. Oversees curriculum and program goals and objectives, as well as professional development for teachers, tutors, and staff. Responsible for development and administration of budget including coordination as PI with NMSU office of grants and contracts and with state ABE officials; local development of budget through I&G budget processes. Serves as liaison between the programs and the community college, community agencies, businesses, advisory committees, satellite locations; develops and fosters community partnerships and serves on numerous community and college committees; and serves on the state ABE director's council and other task forces as appointed by state ABE and/or HED officials. Provides end-of-year and mid-year reporting for grants and contracts, strategic plans and institutional reports. Responsible for state data quality audits/analysis which includes knowledge of the state database and approval of all reports submitted by the college.

Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
   Experience- Eight (8) years of professional experience directly related to the standard duties as outlined.
