Purpose of Classification:
The Facility Security Officer (FSO) is cleared as part of the facility clearance, will supervise and direct security measures necessary for implementing applicable requirements of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual and related Federal requirements for classified information.
Standard Duties:
Supervises, directs, delegates, and evaluates work of assigned staff; Administers and execute a strong security program in compliance with the NISPOM, NISPOM Supplement, DoD 5105.21-M-1, COMSEC Manual 90-1 DCIDs and associated government policies and directives; Administers a comprehensive security education and training program, interface with government customers on security related issues, prepares and maintains the company SPP to include AIS plans. Uses JPAS, e-QIP and other security software in the performance of assigned duties; Performs required self inspections of security programs; Manages and implement physical security safeguards for the protection of personnel and property; Prepares and maintains policy and procedures for handling, storing, and keeping records, and for granting personnel and visitors' access to restricted records and materials; Maintains classified document accounts. Prepares assessments involving possible security violations and initiates measures to correct security deficiencies; Prepares, issues, and maintains DD254s;Supervises Security Specialists in the process of personnel clearances, special access requests and other personnel clearance actions; Interfaces with the facilities safety coordinator to ensure all operations are handled in safe and secure manner (such as coordinating safety education and training);Performs related duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
University and department policies and procedures; principles and practices of organization and administration; principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation; NISPOM, NISPOM Supplement, DoD and COMSEC manuals.

Direct, evaluate, train, and supervise the work of assigned personnel; develop and maintain effective working relationships; maintain accurate and orderly records; use independent judgment and initiative; organize and direct activities; analyze and evaluate information. Implement the policies and procedures of the relevant security manuals and organizations.
Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Bachelors Degree in related field
   Experience- One (1) years of experience directly related to the standard duties as outlined.
   Equivalency- Any equivalent combination of education and experience
