Purpose of Classification: | |
Under general supervision, aids at-risk individuals requiring Career Advisement Services. Secures and evaluates applicable related information. | |
Standard Duties: | |
Intake, assessment, and completion of required forms, documented on both hard copy and participant database; provide eligibility determination and follow-up services for WIA clients and TANF clients; provide WIA and TANF services in accordance with Advisory Board, State and Federal rules and regulations; maintain databases on WIA and TANF clients; assist in screening and answering telephone inquiries; maintain client data files and enter information regularly in the client database; make scheduled visits with area employers to identify their employment needs; complete and submit all program required forms in required time-frame; maintain education, support service, and employment referral networks; update database to ensure accurate performance reporting, assist with referrals, job development and employer contacts to service participants; track clients through each phase of services. | |
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: | |
University and Department policies and procedures; principles and practices of organization and administration; principles of supervision and training. | |
Short- and long-range planning; problem analysis and resolution; report preparation and presentation; public contact and relations; counseling. | |
Communicate effectively with staff, participants and community agencies; to assist participants in developing plans for service and knowledge of services available from local agencies; direct, train, and supervise the work of assigned personnel; apply federal regulations; counseling; communicate effectively in written and oral form; develop and maintain effective working relationships; maintain accurate and orderly records; use independent judgment and initiative; organize and direct several activities; analyze and evaluate information; operate a computer. | |
Minimum Qualifications: | |
Education- Associate's degree in a related field. | |
Experience- Two (2) years of experience related to the standard duties as outlined. | |
Equivalency- Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience as approved by Human Resource Services. | |
