Purpose of Classification:
Facilitates a variety of activities associated with student services, which may include event programming, reading and tutoring services, exam scheduling and proctoring, student orientation, and course advisement.
Standard Duties:
Assure accuracy of paperwork and documentation of student files and records. Communicates with faculty and students in relation to program procedures; answers questions from the public and directs students to other campus resources. May coordinate scheduling and proctoring of exams. May assess students in basic skills, English speaking abilities to determine appropriate placement levels in classroom program. May initiate educational plans for students attending learning center only; makes corrections, recommendations as needed. Oversees student employees. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of campus support organizations. Knowledge of programs/services available to university students. Knowledge of academic advisement procedures. Knowledge of policies, programs and service delivery models for disabled college student populations.
Skill in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment. Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications. Records maintenance skills. Organizing and coordinating skills. Clerical, word processing, and/or office skills.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports. Ability to analyze and solve problems. Ability to analyze course prerequisites, certification, and/or curriculum/graduation requirements. Ability to evaluate student transcripts and/or records.
Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- High School diploma or GED certificate.
   Experience- Two (2) years of experience related to the standard duties as outlined.
   Equivalency- Completion of a post-secondary degree or certificate may substitute for years of experience.
