Purpose of Classification:
Under limited supervision, responsible for the design, modeling, testing, delivery, and evaluation of training programs of a highly specialized field and sophisticated nature. Improving classroom instruction and learning for K-12 teachers and providing leadership development for school administrators to monitor and support effective classroom practice. Responsible for coordination of organizational training services. May supervise, direct, delegate, and evaluate work of assigned staff. sources. The program/project is usually focused to a single purpose within the College of Education; may be scientific, research, education, and/or services oriented, and is usually funded through contract/grant provisions.
Standard Duties:
Responsible for assigned training programs and training outcomes. May confer with management to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training, and conduct training sessions. Maintains records of training activities and effectiveness of training programs. Assists in the coordination of outside training programs by organization employees. May evaluate training programs and conduct return-on-investment studies. May Supervise, direct, delegate, and evaluate work of assigned staff.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and understanding of both children and adult learning principles, and of a wide range of training methods, techniques, and formats. Expert academic content knowledge in various content areas, as well as the knowledge of how to teach the content with effective teaching and learning strategies. Knowledge of the academic standards that have been adopted for the instruction of Pre K-12 students. Current knowledge of best practices for teaching and learning in Pre K-12 education. Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities. Skill in developing and implementing new strategies and procedures. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Skill in the use of personal computers and other learning technologies as well as related software applications. Skill in the ability to self-manage and motivate. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse community. Teaching and facilitation skills. Skill in preparing curriculum materials for both Prek-12 and adult learners.
Ability to develop, plan and implement short-and-long term goals. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to interpret and asses training and development needs and to develop appropriate and creative responses. Ability to negotiate and manage contractual arrangements. Ability to work independently, as a team member, and/or as a team leader. Ability to gather data, analyze information, and prepare reports. Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Master’s degree in related field.
   Experience- Four (4) years of professional experience related to the standard duties as outlined.
   Equivalency- None
   Certifications/License- Teaching certificate within K-12 education.
