Purpose of Classification:
The Division Dean is responsible for the development, administration, and promotion of the division and its programs ensuring high quality instruction in a safe and engaging learning environment. The Dean provides academic and educational leadership to the faculty members, students and campus colleagues and is responsible for developing an active teaching/learning community among students and faculty on campus.
Standard Duties:
Serve as leader, administrator, and evaluator of the Division and the programs it encompasses. Promote academic achievement and student satisfaction consistent with established education objectives, quality standards and fiscal responsibility. Supervise and evaluate assigned personnel. Responsible for development and/or administration of budgets in areas of supervision. Serve as liaison between the Division and the community college and university, community agencies, businesses and other groups, advisory committees, state and national groups. Seek/maintain degree program approval from licensing agencies, regional and national accreditation councils.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and understanding of principles, procedures, regulations, and standards applicable to the job. Understanding of the University's mission, vision and goals.
Excellent communication skills, ability to listen to new ideas and to respond in a timely manner to faculty, students and staff. Demonstrated skill in working effectively with personnel conflicts and concerns
Demonstrated ability to administer in a fair, thorough and thoughtful way. Ability to solve problems and deliver difficult messages in a sensible way. Demonstrated ability to work independently and to establish and maintain a high degree of personal and divisional integrity and openness with students, faculty and staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- Master's degree in a related field.
   Experience- Five (5) years of professional experience directly related to the standard duties as outlined.
