Purpose of Classification:
To assist in the coaching and development of a quality program.
Standard Duties:
Supervises, directs, delegates and evaluates work of assigned staff. Assisting Rodeo Coach. Mentoring/Directing/Interacting with Rodeo Student Athletes. Care/Feeding of Rodeo livestock. Production of practice & preparation. Production of events. Care/upkeep of facilities. Coaches during the competitive season. Assists with recruitment. Organizes equipment for team travel. Teaches skills and performs office related duties. Monitors equipment checkout and inventory. Helps promote and organize camps. Responds to complaints and grievances. Instructs and trains in methods and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of university and department policies and procedures; principles and practices of organization and administration; rodeo events; rodeo production; NIRA rules and regulations; livestock, facility and equipment management; and fund raising techniques.
Skills in short- and long-range planning; problem analysis and resolution; public contact and relations; organization.
Ability to direct, evaluate, train and supervise the work of assigned personnel; communicate effectively in written and oral form; develop and maintain effective working relationships; maintain accurate and orderly records; use independent judgment and initiative; organize and direct activities; analyze and evaluate information.
Minimum Qualifications:
   Education- High School diploma or GED certificate.
   Experience- Three (3) years of experience related to the standard duties as outlined.
   Equivalency- Completion of a post-secondary degree or certificate may substitute for years of experience.
